HoyaiLink is connecting all Hoya tools such as visuReal, visuReal portable, Hoya iDentifier, Hoya Vision Consultant, HoyaiLog, and your HOYA Tracer. The HoyaiLink system allows any software-driven system to add data to your order process to avoid double entry. Furthermore it provides an open architecture that can be utilized by everybody.
What's in it
One of the main features of HoyaiLink is to provide a common storage at the local computer or on the web to share the data with other applications.
These applications (e. g. your practice management system) could be local or web based. The data is stored temporarily in a specific XML format.
This means minimum space and easy implementation for partner systems (e. g. video measurement systems, lab systems).
Every application can read and write data to complete the order details at any time. The collected data could be used by other applications as well (e. g prescription values, patient name). This offers an individual workflow for you and your customer.
Why you'll love it
Enter data once - use it anywhere at any time to save time and avoid errors. Create a paperless shop
Update Manger included - continuously
Open software architecture - add various programs to your workflow
Competitive edge - distinguish yourself from the market in a modern and innovative way
More about HoyaiLink
The computer is not used for consultation or similar applications, nor does the consumer see what is on the screen of the computer. The computer is most likely to be located in the back office or behind your counter, with an internet connection available, permanently or dial-in.
In this case HoyaiLink will be stored on your computer for optimal usage.
You use computers in your daily practice not only for ordering, but also for consultation and measurement. Some computers are placed in the shop and others are in the back office. Information is shared among these computers, but not all computers are connected to the internet. The traces, measurements and consultations should be utilised for order creation. The data gathered should be transferred to the ordering system.
To computer A the role “Master” is assigned; this computer acts as a (kind of) server within your LAN. The mode of HoyaiLink used for the visuReal computer and computer B is “HoyaiLink Remote”. The HoyaiLink data is stored on computer A. For the two other computers the reduced “HoyaiLink Remote” version of HoyaiLink is used, which has no own local data storage, but stores the data remotely on the Master, in this case computer A. The consultations are always stored physically on computer A. You will enter a commission text when performing a visuReal consultation; typically this is the last name of the consumer. This commission is further used to identify which consultation data in the list of consultations stored on computer A.
You use computers and portable devices (e. g. iPad) in yourdaily practice not only for ordering, but also for consultation and measurement. Some computers are placed in the shop and others are in the back office. Information is shared among these computers and all computers are connected to the internet. The traces, measurements and consultations should be utilised for order creation. The data gathered should be transferred to the ordering system.
Each computer should configure HoyaiLink as type "Standard" and storage "web". The consultations are always stored physically in the central storage system of HOYA (cloud). Local applications on the computer can use either the HoyaiLink-API functions or HoyaiLink web services to transfer the data. Applications on portable devices have to use the HoyaiLink web services for the data Exchange, due to the fact that the HoyaiLink Web Connector isn't available.
Check-list to find the right HoyaiLink configuration
- Type: Standard (see "Basic Setup")
This configuration type corresponds to "stand-alone" work stations. The HoyaiLink sessions can be used on this computer only.
- Type: Master/Remote (see "Advanced Setup")
This configuration type corresponds to "client"("Remote")-"server"("Master") systems. The HoyaiLink sessions of the "Master" system are available at the "Remote" systems as well.
- Storage: local
The sessions are stored on the local hard disk of the "Standard" or "Master" HoyaiLink system.
The access to that data is fast, but can be used via the HoyaiLink web connector only.
- Storage: web
The sessions are stored at a central HOYA server.
The access to that data could take a little bit longer and needs an authentication of the customer number of the optician, but can be used via web services without the HoyaiLink web connector.
In principle HoyaiLink supports the connection of all types of applications. To have an overview of known and confirmed partners please follow this link.
